2016 Eastern Idaho State Fair Demonstrations Schedule


MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
You are cordially invited to step back in time for an old-fashioned day at the fair!

10:00-12:00    Round-up your best antiques and come find out more about them with Eastern Idaho State Fair's very own Antique Discovery! Appraisers on the television show "Trash or Treasure", Myron and Janet Curtis will teach us what to look for and appraise your antiques that you bring in. 

1:00-2:00        An old-fashioned Taffy Pull! "Pull" yourself in for a fun time learning from this mother daughter duo, Bonna Anderson and Regene Jones. Make this your new family tradition. 

2:30-3:30       Is there anything better than Homemade Ice Cream? Yes, when you learn how to make the Waffle Cone too! We hope you "Churn up" to capture the last few days of summer to learn how to make both of these treats with presenter Jennifer Booker.

4:00-5:00        Skip the barbershop and come learn The Manly Art of the Perfect Shave using dual edge safety razors. You will be amazed that shaving can be so close and so comfortable. Brothers Bryan and Michael Crockett will show you how to make your face look and feel better than it ever has. After this demonstration, you will actually look forward to shaving and find yourself looking for excuses to shave.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 

11:00-12:00    Beginners and artisans alike will love this Trunk Show with Leslie Steven.

1:00-2:00        Come learn the fun technique of Wool Appliqué with Mary McCullough and 
                     Margaret Peterson 

2:30-3:30        Preparing your quilt for the long arm with Superintedent Connie Tabor 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

10:30-11:30    Quilt Walk with Superintedent Connie Tabor

1:00-2:00        A new twist to an old favorite! Mary Haeberle will teach us a new recipe for 
                        Molasses Cookies

2:30-3:30       Professional Desiree Richards' with Desi's Custom Cakes will be teaching 
                   "The Art of Buttercream". Different designs and styles that are trendy on your cakes! 

4:00-5:00       Tips from the professionals! Learn how to Create the perfect loaf of bread
                    Stephanie from Downtown Bread Company will be demonstrating. 

5:30                C&H BAKING CONTEST!  Using C&H Sugar and Cream Cheese, bring one of your 
                    favorite cookies, brownies, cakes and more to be judged.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

1:00-2:00        Start the holiday season off right with these ideas for delicious bites. Appetizers 
                        with Laura Thueson

2:30-3:30        Come add New Recipes to your old menu! Demonstrators L.C. Richelieu 
                     and Mary Reyes 

4:00-5:00        "The Naked Cake", a new favorite style in the cake world. Learn how to 
                       successfully ice and stack a cake with Desiree Richards 
                      from Desi's Custom Cakes

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

9:30-10:30       Self-Defense with Seth Scott and Troy Randall 

10:30-11:30     Come find out how to take care of your furry friends with up to date Pet Care with 
                      veterinarian Tony Parsons
