SUNRISE SOAP RECIPE (YOU WILL LOVE IT!)
SUPPLIES: Eye Protection, Gloves, Scale, Mold, Stick Blender, Microwave, 2 Durable Bowls (non-metal), Wooden Spoons, and Thermometer. ( Lye is super dangerous!)
BOWL #1= LYE MIXTURE- Wearing Gloves and goggles(& under oven hood if possible) Mix 16 oz DISTILLED WATER & 6 oz LYE. This part is pretty cool!
Let cool to ~ 98 degrees. This takes about 45 min-1 hour.
BOWL#2= OIL MIXTURE- Combine 12 oz OLIVE OIL, 12 oz COCONUT OIL, and 19 ozHYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL (regular cooking oil from Wal-Mart is Soybean Oil)
Melt together in microwave. Mix well! Oils also have to be ~98 degrees.
When both are cooled to ~ 98 degrees, mix together into one bowl & stir with stick blender until mixture starts to “TRACE”. (Thick & creamy and can support a drop)
FINALLY- ADD 1½ oz sweet orange oil, ½ oz ylang ylang essential oil & opt-1t. finely ground chamomile buds. Use any oils you like…the sky is the limit!!
